Plenty of lessons were learned and some almost hilarious mistakes happened (Awesome falls flatfooted trying to walk in Depth 1 water on the first round!). Surprisingly there was no critical hit scores despite the number of internal structure damage inflicted by the Gray Death Legion Mercenaries. Some major action also occured despite bad rolling. The last turns saw some immense damage inflicted upon the Combine mechs. One PPC shot from an Awesome blew threw a Quickdraw's Legs and sent the mech falling down. Players found out how destructive an Autocannon 20 (i bet next time Henri will concentrate fire on the Hunchback! lol) can be.
When the dust settled Combine morale was as broken as their mechs. Their pilots blew open escape hatches as mechs were heavily damaged and fled the field on the back of their surviving Dragon mech. The Mercenaries were content with the minor victory and allowed the pilots to flee. According to Col. Nick "Fury" Langdon: "We're Mechwarriors. Not Murderers.".
